Professor Robert Hare, the world’s foremost expert in the field, estimates that there are at least two million psychopaths in North America.
“Psychopaths are social predators who charm, manipulate, and ruthlessly plow their way through life, leaving a broad trail of broken hearts, shattered expectations, and empty wallets. Completely lacking in conscience and in feelings for others, they selfishly take what they want and do as they please, violating social norms and expectations without the slightest sense of guilt or regret.”

That’s a scary thought — 2 million? Wow!

Here’s an even scarier thought: There are many more millions of people who are “almost-psychopaths;” individuals who don’t have quite enough psychopathic traits to pass the test, but more than enough to be very harmful.

Agreed, Human,,! Having an experience with a psychopath is a life-altering, mind numbing, traumatic experience, that can leave one reeling , consumed with self doubt, and devastated for years to come… The sad news is that one doesn’t have to be a psychopath to cause all this devastation..,, narcissists, sociopaths and garden variety abusers can and do leave a trail of pain and destruction behind them as well….what a messed up, sad world we live in …. Cunningly deceptive, sometimes even being aware of the traits doesn’t save us…. shit.
